Whale Island Family Fun Day

On the 28th July, HMS Excellent held its bi annual families day for all personnel and staff. The day was full of exciting attractions and events including a sky dive, laser quest, petting zoo, fairground rides and stalls.

The weather was fantastic and CFK had a stall, as it was the culmination of a years fundraising efforts for our charity on behalf of the establishment. The annual fire works display, along with other events such as a cricket match, the Portsmouth women’s network cake sale and raffle, small gigs and a host of other events throughout the year were held.

Our stall was the focal point for a balloon race, where people paid a pound for their balloon and tag and set the balloon off. We also had the Art and Soul traders come along and helped the children at the event paint a mural of the day. We are now waiting to see if the winning balloon is picked up and sent back to us.

The day concluded with a cheque presentation to Steve our chairman who works at the establishment and we have passed the £5k mark in funds raised. A massive thank you to all our supporters over the past year and thanks to the welfare committee for giving us another year for our charity.
