The Mad Hatters Charity Tea Party
On Saturday 20th August 2011 Alice in Wonderland characters invaded Victoria Park from 1pm for a fantastic Mad Hatters Tea Party, all in aid of CFK.
There was croquet with hedgehogs and flamingos (not real ones!), face painting, a lucky dip, and of course, tea and cake! Although there was rain in the morning, it cleared up by about 12.30ish, giving us a nice warm welcome for the first performance at 1pm.
The performances were a great hit – from the magic show from our Cheshire Cat, the stick fight between the Red and White Queen with all the children cheering on who they wanted to win, the comedy act of the Tweedles Dum and Dee plus a great little accoustic set from Alice and the March Hare.
All in all I was so pleased with the event, and raising £801.20 is an amazing achievement!
