Danceathon 2010
The 2010 Danceathon was my first event I have organised, and in hindsight, it was a bit of a massive job to take on for a first time organiser, so taking this into consideration, the event went really quite well!
We raised over £500, which is fantastic, and I couldn't have done it without the help of my friends and family - always there to remind me why I was doing it and to encourage me not to give up!
There was a moment during the day when I was worried, as one of the dance schools called up and said they couldn't make it, giving me an hour and a half to fill(!) however through First Choice Entertainment we managed to get hold of Steve Smiley - a local Elvis impersonator, who dropped what he was doing on that hot Saturday afternoon, and drove down to give us a fantastic performance.
My original plan was to do a danceathon again next year, however instead I have opted for a Mad Hatters Tea Party. I am however considering organising the danceathon for 2012, so keep an eye on the danceathon website for more information, or email me (Becki) to be sent an email when/if I start organising it again. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who came to the danceathon, and please do come to the Mad Hatters Tea Party in 2011!
